(CMR) Multiple FCIB staff have contacted Cayman Marl Road to complain about an ongoing sewage issue that is making staff on the second floor of the building extremely sick. The odor has become unbearable and unresolved for the past week.
We understand from multiple sources that management has not instructed staff to go home while the issue is resolved. Instead, staff have been vomiting and suffering from headaches and continuing to work in such dreadful conditions. The issue is impacting multiple divisions including the corporate, operations, collections and wealth management departments which totals about 50 persons.
Thus far management has chosen to not close down operations until the matter is resolved and staff are expected to continue working under those conditions. Some staff expressed that they were afraid of management as they found that they can be “retaliatory” and would likely penalize them for making any complaints or not showing up to work.
