(CMR) Natasha Mowbray appeared in court today to answer charges of failing to keep her white pitbull Achilles dog under control after it attacked a local doctor's dog.
The incident occurred on Saturday, February 9, 2019 when a local physician was walking his dog. Court documents indicate 2 dogs including Achilles jumped over a two-foot fence and attacked his leashed dog. He then complained to the police about the incident indicating he was fearful that others including children in the neighborhood could be at risk.
His dog required medical attention and Mowbray has agreed to pay the vet bill. The Crown agreed today to amend the charges from section 40(2) of the Animals Law (2015 Revision) to section 40(1) instead.
Mowbray told police that her dog had never appeared dangerous before and she was willing to provide the dog with professional training.
Mowbray will appear back in court on October 9 for the matter to be continued.
She also has several other unrelated matters in court including driving under the influence and driving a vehicle with an expired registration from an October 2017 incident.
