(CMR) Local recording artist and songwriter, Rico Rolando has released a new single entitled “Heartbreak” on September 18th.
Rico sat down with Cayman Marl Road on Monday and discussed the inspiration for his latest track. He also discussed his career as a young artist and what has motivated him over the years and keep him focused on his artistic journey.
After spending the last few years building up his reputation as a smooth and sultry RnB frontman Rico returns with a new solo track “heartbreak”. The track was produced alongside Vazco. Heartbreak bridges the gap between radio-friendly R&B and a raw personal journey.
This track appears to be channeling artists like Justin Bieber and Charlie Puth and seduces the listener with passionate and melodic vocals layered of a bed of soft and chilled pop productions.
Sharing his inspiration for the song Rico shared:
“I got signed to an indie label started by some friends as we try to navigate the world of music I put so much effort into the work that I let love go, this song is basically a story of what I did and how it made me feel but also the other side I didn’t feel-empathy it’s like both of us are talking to each other on the record saying that we truly should have said to each other.”
