(CMR) Wayne Carlos Myles (39) was found guilty today in six of the eleven charges he faced for allegedly being a pimp.
Justice Marlene Carter delivered the verdict this morning in what is thought to be a landmark case. She found the evidence in six of the allegations against him to be sufficient enough to return a guilty plea.
The prosecution largely relied upon telecommunications evidence to prove their case. In some instances, there appeared to be no doubt that an exchange for sex services and arranging for women to be available for sex was being undertaken by Myles.
The court heard that Myles had upwards of 32 women and at least 15 clients – some paying as much as CI$500 for each sexual encounter. Myles would then take his management fee for himself.
The matter has been adjourned until a sentencing hearing in June. Myles, who is currently incarcerated for purchasing large quantities of cocaine from a dealer, also has drug offenses in Summary Court that will be dealt with at the June sentencing.
