(CMR) Last week's rampage on Webster's estate and the surrounding area sending after the mother of one of the boys turned him into the police.
Within hours of posting the original story Thursday, CMR received several tips that almost immediately identified one of the boys as being a 13-year-old child from Windsor Park. Community members quickly began discussing his lack of parental guidance, making many victims feel sorry for him.
Police later confirmed that they had apprehended the duo after one of their mothers contacted them. They were later arrested on Saturday, interviewed and granted bail.
CCTV camera footage played a pivotal role in their capture.
Residents began the process of cleaning up the carnage almost immediately as one parent shared that she had to take her child to school with the back glass of her vehicle shattered.
The discipline of these children was discussed largely online as CMR posed the question if they should be identified.
Tuesday's The Cold Hard Truth Podcast will focus on the top of juvenile delinquents in the Cayman Islands.
“We would like to thank the members of the community who came together quickly to support each other just after the incident and assist police officers with the investigation,”
said Deputy Police Commissioner Kurt Walton.
“We have a quick and concrete result that they helped bring about.”
