(CMR) A woman was assaulted over the weekend in West Bay.
Police reports that just before 1:45 pm on Sunday, 21 October, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a report of a serious assault that took place at a residence in West Bay, where it was reported that a woman was attacked with a knife by a man known to her. The man had left the location prior to the arrival of the police.
The woman was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening-injuries.
The incident is currently under police investigation.
Shortly after 1:00 am this morning, 23 October, officers received a report of an arson at Da Station Bar on Shamrock Road located next to the Cayman Brewery. It was reported that an unknown person had set fire to some items at the rear of the building and also poured gasoline in the area. The fire was extinguished by persons at the scene.
