(CMR) Over the weekend several women were the suspects in various incidents including an assault against a police officer.
Shortly before 9:00 pm on Saturday, 29 September, officers in Cayman Brac responded to a report of arson at an address on Frigate Drive, where a bed in the residence was set on fire. Fire Services attended the scene and extinguished the fire. No one was injured in the incident. Susie Scott, age 54 of Cayman Brac, was arrested on suspicion of arson. She remains in police custody.
The woman was on bail after having been arrested on Friday, 28 September, on suspicion of Burglary.
Also in another incident on Grand Cayman a woman was arrested after an early morning incident where a police officer was injured.
Shortly after 2:30 am today, 30 September, officers responded to a report of an altercation in the parking lot of Cotton Club on Shedden Road. Upon arrival, officers observed a male who was bleeding from a wound to his side. Emergency services arrived on scene and attended to the man. As officers attempted to clear the area around the man, a woman at the scene began behaving in an aggressive manner and eventually struck one of the officers. The woman, age 30 of West Bay, was arrested for assaulting police, and remains in custody as investigations continue. The man was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital for treatment. He remains in stable condition.
