(CMR) The Foreign Office (FCO) office has made a brief statement via the Government today that Mr. Choundhury (59) will not be returning to the Cayman Islands.
It stated:
Following an investigation into a number of allegations Mr Choudhury will not return to the Cayman Islands as Governor, but will return to another diplomatic posting in London.
A short term successor will be appointed soon while the recruitment process for a permanent replacement is underway.
It further states that no other comments would be forthcoming on the matter.
Choudhury was recalled in June but the FCO has been silent on the entire matter. The Daily Mail claimed to have all the sordid details on why he was pulled from his post in the Cayman Islands.
He is a Bangladeshi born British diplomat but lasted less than 3 months in his post.
