(CMR) Paulette Anglin-Lewis (54) immigration consultant and local business owner walked free today after a jury found her not guilty of theft from a client.
Last week the prosecution put their case forward that she had stolen more than $55,000 from a client over several years by collecting fees for his permanent residency and then using it to pay her own bills.
As CMR reported last year the allegation was that Anglin-Lewis used the funds to offset her own bills which at time amounted to $90,000 per month. She maintained her innocence the entire time and asserted that an administrative error had been made.
CMR will be updating this story further are more details from our court sources becomes available.
