(CMR) Cayman Marl Road had been contacted by a concerned victim regarding a hit and run that occurred yesterday, March 11 at around 12:10 in the morning.
The source indicated that a white SUV Hyundai hit their black Mustang on the ride side as they were traveling towards West Bay on the Esterley Tibbetts Highway before Lakeside condos.
The collision caused the Mustang to veer off the road and collide into the ditch. Eyewitnesses believe the Hyundai was a late model and could possibly be a 2016/17 vehicle and was driven by a Caucasian female suspected to be in her twenties.
One of the injured parties shared the following details:
“So we were at the stop light (Jacques Scott) together. We drove off before her and she speed up in front of us and almost hit another car when we got on that little corner. She then came to a full stop which was so weird. We saw it and so we tried pulling away to not hit her in the back and she turned, hit us which force us in the ditch she drove up look at us and speed off.”
The two female occupants in the Mustang also sustained some injuries and are experiencing a lot of pain and attended the hospital today and were treated and released. They sustained some lacerations and are having “severe soreness”.
The police attended the scene an hour after the incident occurred.
Given the angle of the accident, the Hyundai should have sustained damage to the front of her vehicle. Anyone with information should contact the RCIPS at 949-4222 or CrimeStoppers. Anonymous tips can also be provided to CMR directly here.
NOTE: This incident has not been publicly reported by the RCIPS. However, we are sure they would appreciate any eyewitnesses coming forward that can assist in the matter.
