(CMR) Albert Ebanks (16) a John Gray High School(JGHS) student died on Monday after losing his battle with leukemia.
The year 11 student was receiving treatments in the United States since last year after being diagnosed with blood cancer in July 2017. Ebanks went to Florida for treatment around October 2017 and even celebrated his birthday in hospital on November 27.
Earlier this month he had received a much-needed bone marrow transplant. CMR sources indicate that he was doing well after his surgery and his death appears to be shocking news for his family and friends.
During Christmas, his classmates gathered to fundraiser $1,000 for his family.
By all accounts, Ebanks as well-liked by his peers and respected by his teachers. This post will be updated with service details once available.
CMR would like to express our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.
