(CMR) A serious motorbike accident has resulted in the arrest of a 40-year-old George Town man for suspicion of dangerous driving.
The collision occurred Sunday, 17 December, around 7:30 p.m. close to Deckers Restaurant on West Bay Road. A black Suzuki motorcycle and a grey Honda CRV collided with the bike rider sustaining serious but non-life threatening injuries. He was hospitalized and is said to be in stable condition.
West Bay Road was temporarily closed following the incident as officers conducted their traffic investigation, it was reopened to traffic shortly after 12 a.m.
The motorcycle rider has been identified as local resident Christopher Calloo. Numerous messages were circulating praying for his full recovery.
Accidents continue to mount on a daily basis with no signs of slowing down while the RCIPS struggle to encourage drivers to be more attentive to the roadways.
