(CMR) Social media was abuzz with videos and posts of local bikers causing havoc on the roads.
Apparently this is an annual event called Ride Out Cayman where bikers converge on a trip around the island.
Posters were not amused by the bikers and make it well known.
One CMR contributor messaged us saying that this was the third week in a row that a large group of bikers descended on his otherwise quiet area of West Bay – reeving up their bikes and making quite a disturbance on a “quiet Sunday morning”.
Apparently footage from West Bay all the way to East End could be seen of countless bikers in unison causing havoc on the roads. In one video they can be seen taunting the police and running circles around an officer on foot.
In other videos, they can be seen doing a “wheelie” on what appears to be the Linford Pierson highway which is currently under construction.
The RCIPS remains concerned about the number of traffic accidents on the roads as there were at least three today that CMR is aware of. We are all anxious to see how this will be addressed by the authorities.
Bikers taunting the RCIPS officers who were trying to control the situation
Ironically there were some supporters of the bikers who noted that they were in favor of the police focusing on more important issues.
