This was shared by one of our followers on social media. What appears to be an all too common occurrence … we have heard numerous almost identical stories of what could be profiling and then different treatment. Once a guest is following the rules and is also a paying guest should they be treated any differently just because they are not an overseas visitor? Do you believe the response from the manager in the scenario below was appropriate in the circumstances?
What can we do to resolve such an issue?
Anybody that knows me well can admit that I don't take things like this to social media and a lot of times I turn a blind eye to it… I decided to take my family on a mini staycation at the Westin hotel just to relax a bit while we enjoyed celebrating my daughter's birthday. Anyway as we ventured to enjoy our day at the pool today a security guard from the security center decided to approach us and ask if we had proof that we are currently staying at the hotel and my wife in return told him our room number and he still attempted to search his paperwork and called someone over the phone to verify that this was indeed facts..the reason this upset me so much was because this is the second time this has been done to me and my family..and when I explain to the manager on duty at the Westin today July 3rd, 2017 she stated that the security was just doing his job and could not offer any further help from there?Maybe I did something wrong..so I decided to end our time short and ruin my daughters birthday plans because of this confusing matter.
