(CMR) Children between 5-11 years old can now get vaccinated against COVID-19 following the arrival of 2,000 doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines from the UK Government on Thursday's British Airways flight.
Public Health is working on a schedule for the vaccine rollout and will be released early next week. They are in conversation with various private pediatric clinics to partner in administering the vaccine to their patients. Public Health is also in conversation with the schools and anticipates making it available in the district clinics.
During a press briefing on Thursday, Minister of Health Sabrina Turner noted that the COVID-19 vaccine had become yet another essential tool in the constantly evolving fight to protect children against infectious diseases. The Minister also said that clinics for vulnerable children are already ongoing.
