“This brings it to a total of 10 people we believe are related to the George Town Primary School outbreak.”
(CMR) Ten COVID-19 infections are now related to the outbreak at George Town Primary school including a total of five asymptotic children and two adults. This brings the total to eight children in total who are positive with five in Year 6 and one from Year 5 and two from Year 4. Public Health has not been able to detect any travel history related to the GTPS outbreak.
A total of 1,752 PCR tests were run at the various labs across the island.
All of the children remain largely asymptotic apart from the initial child who is stable with five of the children and two adults having mild symptoms. All parents have asked to continue to isolate until such time the last few results are received and they receive a message from Public Health.
A total of 12 households island-wide have now been involved. There are 9 positive community tests including 7 from George Town Primary School.
71% of the entire population is vaccinated although there was an uptick in the numbers since the first positive community case was announced a week ago. That elderly patient remains in hospital receiving treatment for non-covid related illnesses.
